It belongs to the AC 800M Controller Series. It is an entry-level Process Controller (PAC, Programmable Automation Controller) under ABB Compact Product Suite, designed for System 800xA DCS. This is a non-redundant CPU processor unit.

2. Main Functions

1. Acts as the core processing unit of automation systems, executing continuous control loops, sequential logic, interlock protection and batch control programs.
2. Supports standard IEC 61131-3 programming languages; programming, download and online debugging are carried out via Control Builder.
3. Equipped with dual Ethernet ports and RS232 serial ports for communication with operator stations, host systems, other controllers and S800 I/O modules.
4. Expands I/O and communication modules via CEX bus to connect field signals, drives, instruments and third-party devices.
5. Uses CompactFlash card to store control applications, firmware and process parameters; integrated real-time clock, hardware self-diagnosis and status LED indicators.
6. Performs process data acquisition, calculation & output, alarm handling and trend data buffering to realize closed-loop automatic control for industrial sites.

Note: PM860AK01 is a single non-redundant model, suitable for small & medium control sites without high-availability redundancy requirements.
