Introduction

Main Functions

  1. Process logic calculation & closed‑loop control: As core CPU controller of DeltaV DCS system, it executes PID regulation, interlock logic and sequence control program, performs closed‑loop control calculation for process variables such as temperature, pressure, flow and liquid level.
  2. I/O data management: Collect input signals from field I/O modules via Local‑Bus, and send control commands to I/O cards to realize data interaction with field instrumentsDCS Center.
  3. Redundancy & hot‑standby support: Support 1:1 dual‑controller redundant configuration. When primary controller fails, standby controller will perform bumpless auto‑switch‑over to eliminate single‑point‑of‑failure and ensure continuous plant operation.
  4. System network communication: Exchange Ethernet data with DeltaV workstations, HMI and other controllers; upload real‑time data, alarm messages & historical trend data, and receive operator commands.
  5. Module self‑diagnosis: Built‑in hardware self‑test function, real‑time fault reporting for CPU, memory, bus communication and power supply status for maintenance & troubleshooting.
  6. Data storage: Store control configuration, parameters and alarm events; critical parameters are retained after power loss.

This is core controller module for Emerson DeltaV M‑Series Distributed Control System (DCS).
