Product Background

This is dedicated hardware for Honeywell Experion PKS C200 DCS control system, acting as communication bridge between C200 controller and I/O subsystem. This module is end‑of‑life (EOL), original new production has been discontinued. Available units on market are mostly used pulled‑out or refurbished tested spares.

A large number of these modules are still running in petrochemical, refinery, chemical and power plants. It is a critical communication component for C200 platform; module failure will cause loss of communication with corresponding I/O racks, so spare‑part replacement demand remains strong.

Main Functions

1. I/O‑Link communication bridging: interface between C200 controller and remote I/O racks, transferring control commands and field process data between controller and IOTA I/O modules.
2. Signal driving and electrical isolation for I/O‑Link bus, filter electromagnetic interference and protect controller hardware.
3. Support dual redundant I/O‑Link links; single‑link failure will not break I/O communication, improving system reliability.
4. Built‑in hardware self‑diagnosis: detect link disconnection, communication error and module fault. On‑board LED status indicators, fault alarms can be uploaded to DCS operator station for troubleshooting.
5. Expand I/O capacity: allow C200 controller to connect multiple remote I/O racks and enlarge total I/O channel quantity of the whole system.

Mounted inside Experion PKS C200 controller cabinet and works with C200 controller.

Widely used in petrochemical, refinery, power plant, chemical and pharmaceutical process industries.

It belongs to DCS communication interface layer, serving as bridge between controller and I/O subsystem. It does not directly acquire field process signals.
