Introduction

1.Main Functions

Detector Analog Signal Amplification and Digitization Receive weak analog output signals from gas detector (FID / TCD / FPD etc.) inside the chromatograph. Amplify low-level detector signals and convert analog chromatographic peak signals into digital data for the analyzer main controller. This is the core signal acquisition link for gas component concentration measurement.
Detector Power Supply & High Bias Voltage Output Supply operating power and high bias voltage to the detector unit. It provides ignition signal and glow-plug drive output for flame-based detectors like FID; supports range switching for different measurement concentration ranges to adapt high/low content gas samples.
Temperature Control via RTD Sensors Dual RTD (PT100) temperature input channels and dual heater control outputs. It monitors detector and methanator temperature in real time and executes closed-loop heating regulation, maintaining stable oven/detector working temperature to guarantee repeatable chromatographic peaks and stable analysis results.
Internal I2C Bus Communication Communicate with the analyzer central SNE controller through I2C bus. Transmit digitized chromatogram data, detector status, temperature values and fault information upwards; receive configuration parameters and analysis sequence commands from the main control unit. Built-in hardware ID switch for module identification.
Flame Detection and Safety Interlock Real-time flame sensing input for FID detector. If flame loss is detected, it triggers safety interlock logic automatically, cuts off fuel gas and raises analyzer alarm to prevent unsafe operation of the flame detector.
On-board Self-diagnosis and Fault Reporting Continuous hardware self-check of signal circuit, heater loop, RTD sensor and power supply. It captures faults such as open circuit of temperature sensor, heater failure, detector circuit abnormality. Fault codes and status flags are sent to the analyzer system for local HMI display and remote alarm transmission. Front panel LED indicators show module running status and fault status.
Detector Enable Control Output enable signal for detector modules (such as FPD). It turns detector function on/off according to analysis method sequence during automated analysis cycles.

2. Applications & Purpose

Core Purpose

The A5E02645925001 DPM board is the dedicated detector front-end electronic module of Siemens MAXUM II process gas chromatograph. Its core task is to acquire, condition and digitize detector signals, control detector heating and safety interlock, and transmit measurement data to the main analyzer controller. Without a functional DPM, the chromatograph cannot collect chromatogram peaks or calculate gas component concentrations. It acts as the bridge between physical detector sensor and the analyzer digital control system.

Application Note

This DPM board is a dedicated spare component only for MAXUM II process gas chromatograph. It cannot be used as a general signal acquisition board. Different DPM variants are designed for different detector types (FID, TCD, FPD). Model matching is mandatory during replacement. The board works in hazardous industrial environments and complies with explosion protection requirements of process online analyzers.
