1785-KE is an old-style communication adapter installed in the single slot of the 1771 I/O rack. It draws power directly from the rack backplane and does not require independent power supply. It has two interfaces:
Data Highway Plus is a Rockwell-specific industrial local area network interface.
15-pin serial port, supporting DF1 protocol, half-duplex / full-duplex selectable DH + fixed 57.6 kbps; RS232 baud rate is set through onboard dip switch, range 110 ~ 19200 bps; Electrical isolation between ports, allowing PLC-5 system serial peripheral devices to connect to the DH+ network.
