Introduction
The IS200EROCH1A (EROC) is a dedicated single-slot 6U circuit board developed by GE Vernova for the EX2100 digital excitation control system of gas/steam turbine generators. It is installed in the regulator rack and serves as an auxiliary functional expansion module for the excitation regulator.
Core Functions
- Generator Field Ground Fault Detection Interface It cooperates with the ground detection module IS200ERGTH1A to provide excitation winding ground leakage detection circuit, monitor insulation resistance of generator rotor field circuit, detect field winding ground fault, and trigger alarm or protection action.
- Serial Communication Interface Equipped with RS232 serial ports (front panel keypad port & tool port). It supports local keypad connection and on-site debugging link to the DSPX main control board via a laptop for parameter tuning, fault diagnosis and data uploading.
- Auxiliary Power Supply Output Provides regulated +70 VDC power supply for the field contact terminal board (IS200ECTB), supplying power to contact output loops of excitation system.
- Expansion of Regulator Optional Functions Supports access to third-party ground detectors, signal routing and transmission between multiple slots of the regulator backplane, expands I/O and protection options for the excitation controller.
- Signal Conditioning & Noise Suppression Onboard filter capacitors and protection circuits stabilize control signals, restrain voltage spikes and electromagnetic interference inside the excitation cabinet.
Application Purpose
This board is a key auxiliary component of the GE EX2100 excitation system for heavy-duty gas turbine and steam turbine generators.
It works with the DSPX main control processor, excitation pulse board and terminal boards to realize generator automatic voltage regulation (AVR), rotor insulation monitoring, local debugging and auxiliary signal distribution.
It guarantees safe and stable operation of generator excitation loops, and is critical for preventing generator rotor ground faults.
