  1. TRICONEX: Brand name (Kangjisen), a Tricon Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) SIS Safety Instrumented System brand under Schneider Electric, dedicated to safety interlock (ESD/F&G/BMS) for high-risk industries including oil & gas, chemical and power sectors.

Supplementary Core Architecture Note:

Adopts independent communication co-processor design to separate safety logic calculation and data communication. Main processors only execute safety interlock logic, while all communication tasks are processed separately by NCM4329 to avoid interlock scan delay caused by massive upper station access.

Equipped with two physically independent Ethernet ports to support redundant dual-network architecture (A/B network isolation). The two ports can connect to safety monitoring network and plant DCS control network separately to realize bumpless switchover upon network faults.

Comply strictly with SIL3 safety isolation standards. Communication links are galvanically isolated from internal TriBus triple safety bus, preventing external network attacks and viruses from invading safety computing core.

2. Core Main Purposes

  1. External Ethernet data exchange for SIS safety system (core function) Connects to main MP3006 processors independently, reads full-plant AI analog values, DI digital signals, interlock status, SOE events, equipment fault alarms and other data, and forwards data outward via industrial Ethernet. Meanwhile, it receives remote query and status confirmation commands from upper systems to realize external data communication of the safety system.
  2. Redundant dual-Ethernet communication with link fault tolerance Two physically separate RJ45 ports are provided to build redundant dual networks:
  • If one cable breaks, switch fails or one network segment loses power, the module automatically switches to the backup port without data transmission interruption;
  • Support network partition isolation: one port connects to central control HMI for monitoring, the other connects to plant DCS control system to logically separate safety network and control network and reduce network security risks.

Offload communication burden of main processors to guarantee fixed interlock scan cycle All communication tasks including Modbus TCP, OPC UA/DA, TriStation program download, remote diagnosis and multi-client access are processed by NCM4329 dedicated co-processor, releasing computing power of MP3006 main processors. Communication channel for remote configuration, online debugging and diagnosis via TriStation Acts as communication bridge between upper TriStation configuration software and Tricon rack, supporting remote program download, online logic modification, hardware fault diagnosis and card parameter reading. With redundant dual networks, central control engineers can conduct uninterrupted online debugging without on-site cabinet operation.
