Introduction

1. Main Functions

  1. Galvanic Isolation Between High-Voltage Power & Low-Voltage Control Circuits Provides complete electrical isolation between low-voltage main control logic and high-voltage SCR power rectifier bridges. Optical fiber has no electrical conduction path, blocking surge current, harmonic noise and electromagnetic interference from power stage to main CPU, preventing breakdown of core excitation controller chips.
  2. Bidirectional Photoelectric Signal Conversion & Transmission
  • Electrical-to-Optical: Convert thyristor SCR firing pulses, regulation commands and digital control signals from main excitation control board into optical signals, transmitted via fiber to SCR power assemblies;
  • Optical-to-Electrical: Receive optical feedback signals including SCR temperature, load current, fault alarms and bridge status, convert back to electrical digital signals and upload to main controller for closed-loop regulation and fault diagnosis.
  1. 4-Channel Synchronous High-Speed Pulse Distribution Integrated with 4 independent optical transmit-receive channels to distribute precise synchronized firing pulses to multi-phase SCR rectifier bridges, ensuring consistent conduction timing across three phases, reducing excitation output harmonic distortion and balancing 3-phase excitation current.

Power Stage Fault Acquisition & Status Feedback Collect hardware fault signals (SCR overcurrent, overheating, cooling system failure, fiber link breakage) from power units, convert into digital fault codes and transmit to GE Mark VIe turbine control system to trigger alarm, excitation load limiting or unit trip protection logics.
  3. Anti-EMI Stable Short-Range Cabinet Communication Optical transmission is immune to strong electromagnetic radiation generated by high-current busbars, contactors and circuit breakers inside excitation cabinets, avoiding firing pulse distortion and abnormal excitation regulation.
  4. Standard Backplane Hot-Pluggable Expansion Adopts unified PIB-series rack backplane bus design, supports direct plug-in installation on EX2100 excitation chassis; multiple PIB optical boards can be paralleled for capacity expansion for multi-bridge parallel excitation of large-capacity generator sets.
