- Core logic computation: Equipped with 32‑bit processor, serves as main CPU for D20 system. Executes substation‑automation logic, interlock, calculation and threshold judgment for real‑time control operations.
- Multi‑type signal processing: Interfaces with extended I/O modules to acquire analog, digital and serial telemetry signals for remote‑measurement and remote‑signal processing.
- Multi‑protocol communication: Supports Modbus, D20‑Link, RS232/RS485 and Ethernet. Enables bidirectional data exchange with SCADA host systems and IED protection devices, and transmits remote‑adjustment & remote‑control commands.
- Event & SOE sequence‑of‑event logging: Stores SOE records, alarms and fault logs for post‑incident analysis.
- Modular system expansion: Expands various I/O sub‑modules via backplane bus for flexible point configuration for substations of different scales.
- Local & remote control: Supports on‑site logic execution and accepts remote dispatch commands for remote operation of breakers and primary equipment.

Main Applications
This module is the main RTU controller of GE WESDAC D20 substation‑automation series. Original manufacturing has been stopped; it is mainly used for maintenance replacement of legacy power‑system installations.
‑ Widely deployed in power substations, distribution networks and auxiliary control systems of power plants, acting as remote terminal unit (RTU) for power‑data acquisition, monitoring, remote‑control and remote‑regulation.
‑ Also applied in oil‑gas, water‑treatment, metallurgy and other industrial process‑control scenarios for process‑signal acquisition and logic control.
‑ Primarily used as spare‑part replacement for legacy operating projects, to substitute defective D20ME main‑controller boards and keep ageing substation‑automation systems operational.
