Product Background

9905‑968 is a legacy distributed analog input node belonging to Woodward LinkNet™ remote I/O platform, specially built for gas turbines, steam turbines, diesel/gas engine control systems. It is designed for remote field‑mounted signal acquisition, can be installed close to field sensors to reduce long‑distance analog wiring. It communicates via LON (Local Operating Network) LinkNet bus to connect with Woodward main controllers such as MicroNet Plus, 723, 505 series turbine governors.

This module is Discontinued (EOL) by Woodward. Only surplus original stock, refurbished or aftermarket replacement units are available in industrial spare‑parts market.

Main Functions

  1. 6‑channel isolated 4‑20 mA analog signal acquisition Six independent isolated analog input channels, accept standard industrial 4‑20 mA current‑loop signals from pressure, temperature, position, flow transmitters. High‑precision A/D conversion, 12‑bit resolution, ±0.2% full‑scale typical accuracy.
  2. Electrical isolation Channel‑to‑channel and channel‑to‑ground isolation (1500 Vrms), suppress industrial electromagnetic interference, protect main control system from field‑side surge damage.
  3. LinkNet LON bus communication Transmits collected analog data to Woodward turbine/engine main controller via LinkNet LON bus; supports remote configuration and diagnostic data upload over the distributed control network.
  4. Signal conditioning & filtering Built‑in hardware filtering for analog input signals, reduces noise interference from harsh vibration and high‑EMI turbine‑room environments.
  5. Channel‑status LED indication Each channel has dedicated status LED to indicate normal operation or channel fault (open‑circuit / short‑circuit detection for sensor loop) for fast field troubleshooting.
  6. On‑board self‑diagnosis Continuously monitors hardware health, detects input‑channel faults, power‑supply anomalies, and bus‑communication errors; reports fault status to the host controller for maintenance alarm.
