Core Functions

1. High‑precision 3‑phase electrical measurement: Directly samples AC voltage, current, frequency, active/reactive power, power factor from generator sets and busbar. Supports wide input range up to 690V AC. Provides accurate real‑time electrical values for power‑management logic.
2. Automatic generator synchronisation: Executes closed‑loop synchronisation algorithm. Compares phase angle, voltage and frequency between generator and busbar; sends regulating commands for speed and voltage to achieve smooth paralleling of generators or mains connection.
3. Load‑sharing control: Calculates active and reactive power deviation among paralleled gen‑sets, distributes load‑sharing commands to each generator to balance power output across multiple units.
4. Generator electrical protection: Implements over‑voltage, under‑voltage, over‑frequency, under‑frequency, reverse‑power protection functions. Triggers alarm or trip signals to avoid generator damage under abnormal grid conditions.More products: www.plcva.com
5. Backplane data exchange with PCM4.1: Transfers measured data, synchronisation status and protection alarm events to PCM4.1 central CPU module via DM‑4 rack backplane bus. Receives control set‑points from PCM4.1 for synchronisation and load regulation.
6. Mechanical governor drive capability: Compatible with OPR‑1 auxiliary relay PCB, outputs pulse control signals for mechanical speed governors. Supports both electronic governor and mechanical governor generator unitsDEIF.
7. Module self‑diagnosis: Monitors hardware status, signal input faults and backplane communication health. Reports failure status to system operator panel DU‑2 / AOP units.

DEIF SCM4.2 Synchronisation, Control and Measuring Module

Applications & Use Cases

SCM4.2 is the core measuring & synchronisation unit of DEIF Delomatic‑4 DM‑4 power‑management system, it must cooperate with PCM4.1 main control module to operate normally.

1. Marine vessel power‑management systems: Generator synchronisation, paralleling and load sharing for cargo ships, offshore platforms, work vessels. Realises black‑out recovery, bus‑tie breaker control and mains‑generator switch‑over.
2. Land‑based industrial power stations: Multi‑genset paralleling control for backup power plants, data‑centre standby power, micro‑grid and CHP combined‑heat‑power facilities. Guarantees stable load distribution among multiple generators.
3. Mixed‑governor gen‑set integration: Suitable for sites with both electronic‑governor generators and mechanical‑governor generators (with OPR‑1 add‑on board).
4. System expansion for DM‑4 rack: Multiple SCM4.2 modules can be installed within one DM‑4 rack to manage several generator units simultaneously.plcva.com
5. Maintenance & spare‑part replacement: Used as OEM spare part for existing Delomatic‑4 installations. Field swap of faulty SCM4.2 extends service lifetime of marine and industrial power‑management systems without complete system redesign.
