Introduction

Main Functions

Digital‑to‑Analog Conversion (DAC) Converts digital control values from FieldPoint controller into analog voltage signals. 12‑bit DAC resolution, output range 0‑10 V (0‑10.2 V over‑range allowed).Default channel drive capacity 1 mA per channel; with optional external 15‑30 VDC power supply, sourcing current can reach up to 10 mA per channel. All‑channel update rate is 200 Hz. Output defaults to 0 V upon power‑on reset.

Galvanic Isolation & Surge Protection Provides 2300 Vrms transient over‑voltage isolation between FieldPoint backplane bus and field I/O channels, suppresses ground‑loop noise and transient surge interference, protects host controller circuitry from field‑side disturbance.
Hot‑swap Capability Supports hot‑plug‑and‑play on FieldPoint backplane chassis. Module can be replaced while the whole I/O system keeps running without power‑off shutdown.
Over‑current Protection and Channel Diagnostics Built‑in current‑limiting hardware for each output channel. Equipped with over‑current status indicators. Detects channel overload and short‑circuit conditions, reports fault status to host software (LabVIEW) for maintenance diagnosis.
Backplane Bus Data Interaction Installed on FieldPoint chassis backplane. Receives set‑point data from FieldPoint network module/controller, executes DAC conversion, and transmits channel diagnostic status back to control host via backplane bus. Supports configuration and operation through LabVIEW software environment.

Note: FP‑AO‑210 is EOL (End‑of‑Life) obsolete hardware. It cannot work independently and must be used together with FieldPoint chassis and network controller. Original mass‑production has been discontinued, only supplied as aftermarket replacement spare part. Operating temperature range: ‑40 °C ~ +70 °C for harsh industrial environment.
