Introduction

Main Functions

Multi‑port Serial Communication Gateway Equipped with four configurable serial ports (RS‑232 / RS‑422 / RS‑485) and one Centronics parallel printer port. Realizes bidirectional data interaction between Tricon SIS controller and external field devices, host systems and engineering workstations Max two 4119A modules can be installed within one Tricon chassis.
Modbus Protocol Master / Slave Communication Supports Modbus RTU / ASCII protocol. It can act as Modbus master or slave, transmits safety‑related real‑time process variables, alarm events, trip logs and system status data between Tricon safety system and external DCS, PLC, HMI and data‑acquisition equipment.

TriStation Engineering Interface & Printer Output Provides communication channel for TriStation 1131 engineering workstation for program download, online monitoring and system diagnosis. The parallel port supports safety‑log output to Centronics‑compatible serial printers for safety‑event hard‑copy recording.
Electrical Isolation & Noise Suppression 500 VDC galvanic isolation between module internal circuit and external communication ports. Isolates surge and ground‑loop interference from serial‑bus side, protects Tricon safety controller back‑plane circuit from external electrical disturbance.
Hot‑swap & Self‑diagnosis Supports hot‑plug replacement under system running condition without shutting down SIS safety logic. Built‑in hardware self‑diagnosis function, front‑panel LED indicators display module status, port link state and communication faults for on‑site troubleshooting. Hot‑standby redundancy is not supported for this module.

Note: 4119A is EOL (End‑of‑Life) legacy spare part. It cannot run independently and must be inserted into Tricon SIS main chassis and cooperate with TMR processor modules. Original mass‑production is discontinued, only used as aftermarket replacement spare component.More products: www.plcva.com
