Function

1. Convert the input AC or DC power source into stable, regulated low-voltage DC power for the Tricon controller rack, CPU boards and I/O modules.
2. Adopt redundant power design; multiple 8312 modules can work in parallel. If one power unit fails, the others continue power supply without system shutdown.
3. Built-in overvoltage, overcurrent, short-circuit and over-temperature protection to prevent damage to the safety system hardware.
4. Provide power status diagnostic signals to the Tricon controller. The system can report power faults, alarms and health information to the operator station.
5. Isolate the internal safety system circuit from external power noise and surges, suppressing electromagnetic interference.

Main Application

1. Designed for Triconex Tricon SIS (Safety Instrumented System), including ESD emergency shutdown systems, F&G fire and gas protection systems.
2. Supplies power to the Tricon main controller rack in process industries: oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical plants, refining, power, coal chemical and long-distance pipeline projects.
3. Applied in safety-critical sites requiring SIL level safety certification. It ensures continuous power supply for safety interlock logic to cut off hazardous equipment upon abnormal process conditions.
4. Installed inside the Tricon chassis as a rack power supply unit for redundant power configuration.
