- Onboard Independent Protocol Processing The integrated Motorola 68360 RISC processor executes link-layer protocols locally instead of relying on host CPU. - Dual VHSI High-speed Serial Ports 2 × VHSI ports, each supports full-duplex transmission speed up to 2 Mbps. The VHSI interface can adapt to different physical standards via external cables: X.21, V.35, V.24, EIA-530, RS-449 for leased line and synchronous serial connections.
- Multi-protocol Support Supports classic WAN communication protocols including X.25, Frame Relay, HDLC, SDLC and PPP. It can operate over dedicated leased lines or dial-up synchronous links for industrial and legacy telecom data transmission.
- WAN Routing & Data Gateway Works as a WAN gateway for LAN-to-WAN routing. It routes IP or X.25 packets between local Ethernet LAN and remote serial WAN nodes, enabling cross-site data exchange for industrial control systems and legacy server networks.
- Link Diagnostics & Status Monitoring Onboard hardware monitors line signal quality, carrier status, frame errors, CRC faults and port link up/down status.
