1. Multiplexed analog and digital signal acquisition and output Collects multi-channel analog signals including chamber pressure, temperature, vacuum gauge, ESC voltage and gas sensor readings; acquires digital discrete signals such as limit switches, slit valve status, door interlock and flow switches. 2. Seriplex SPX field bus communication Implements AMAT proprietary Seriplex SENSORbus protocol. It acts as a remote I/O node to exchange data between local chamber peripherals and the main system controller through a single four-wire bus cable, greatly reducing field wiring quantity and simplifying chamber cable layout.plcva.com
3. Optical signal isolation and anti-EMI design Onboard opto-isolation circuits separate field-side signals from control logic circuits. It suppresses strong electromagnetic interference generated by RF plasma power supplies inside the vacuum chamber, avoiding signal distortion and false triggering in cleanroom high-noise environment.www.plcva.com
4. Interlock signal routing and status feedback Routes safety interlock and EMO emergency stop digital signals, monitors interlock loop health, uploads trip events and fault alarms to host controller. It locks output signals automatically once safety conditions are violated.
5. Power-on self-test and onboard status diagnosis Built-in self-test routine at power-up. LED indicators display bus communication health, individual channel status and fault codes for fast field troubleshooting. It records signal abnormality logs for process and maintenance traceability.

2. Applications / Purposes

This SPX-MUXADIO-001 Seriplex I/O board is a critical spare interface component for AMAT semiconductor wafer processing equipment:

1. Plasma Etch Chambers For 200mm wafer etch tools, collects vacuum, gas and valve sensor signals to support plasma etching recipes.plcva.com
2. PVD Physical Vapor Deposition Monitors sputtering chamber peripherals, controls gas panel valves and pressure sensors for metal and dielectric thin-film deposition.
3. PECVD Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition Used for silicon oxide, silicon nitride and amorphous silicon film deposition on wafer substrates.
4. Semiconductor fab equipment maintenance spare part Suitable for repair, refurbishment and board replacement of legacy AMAT P-5000, Centura and Endura multi-chamber platforms. Without this board, the chamber cannot communicate with local sensors and actuators, and wafer process recipes cannot be executed.
