This board serves as the main control board for ABB UNITROL series excitation regulators. It executes closed-loop excitation control algorithms, collects electrical parameters of generators to realize terminal voltage regulation and reactive power control. It integrates multiple excitation protection functions, supports data communication with upper-level DCS systems, and drives the excitation power unit.

It matches ABB UNITROL 5000 / UNITROL 6000 generator excitation control systems. Widely used for steam turbine generators, hydro generators and gas turbine generators in thermal power plants, hydropower stations and gas power stations, acting as the core spare control component of excitation systems.
