SDCS‑PIN‑51‑COAT is a dedicated power‑measurement interface board for ABB large‑power DC drive systems, belonging to the SDCS drive‑component family. It is the coated variant of SDCS‑PIN‑51, with protective conformal coating for corrosive, humid, dusty industrial sites. It is installed inside the DC converter cabinet, mounted on the drive backplane, sitting between the high‑power thyristor power circuit and the main control board SDCS‑CON‑2 / SDCS‑CON‑4.More products: www.plcva.com

It is designed for ABB DCS500B, DCS600, DCS800 series DC variable‑speed drives (high‑power armature frames A5/A6/A7). It is not compatible with small‑power DCS400 (uses SDCS‑PIN‑48 instead). This part is discontinued (EOL) by ABB; only spare‑part stock, refurbished or replacement units are available on aftermarket.

Main Functions

1. High‑power signal conditioning & sampling Collects high‑voltage/current signals from the DC drive power stage: armature DC voltage, armature current, field excitation current, and heat‑sink temperature signals from sensors and current transformers. Converts high‑level power‑side signals into low‑level standard signals for the main controller.
2. Thyristor pulse‑transformer interface Provides interface for thyristor firing‑pulse transformers; transmits gate‑drive trigger pulses to power thyristor devices inside the converter.
3. Hardware fault detection & protection logic Monitors over‑voltage, over‑current, over‑temperature and hardware anomalies. Sends fault status signals to the main control board to trigger drive shutdown protection in abnormal conditions.

1. Electrical isolation & noise suppression Built‑in isolation circuits to isolate high‑voltage power circuit from low‑voltage control logic, suppress strong electromagnetic interference generated by thyristor switching, ensure stable signal sampling in heavy‑noise environments.
2. Conformal‑coated ruggedization (‑COAT version) Anti‑corrosion protective coating, improves resistance against salt‑mist, humidity, sulfur‑containing gas and dust, suitable for harsh industrial operating environments.
3. Backplane bus communication Transmits sampled measurement data and fault status through internal drive backplane bus to the main control board; no external field‑bus communication interface.
