It belongs to the AC 800M High Integrity (AC800M HI) Safety Controller Series, compatible with System 800xA DCS, under the Compact Product Suite portfolio.

SM811K01 is a safety CPU module which must work together with PM865 controller. It adopts 1oo2D architecture and holds TÜV SIL3 functional safety certification.

Note: This is an older spare part variant. SM812K01 is the recommended replacement for new projects.

2. Main Functions

1. Operates paired with PM865 standard controller to form AC800M HI safety control system, executing SIL-rated safety logic for Safety Instrumented System (SIS).
2. 1oo2D dual-path parallel processing: safety applications run independently in both PM865 and SM811, with cross-checking of calculation results to meet SIL3 safety integrity level.
3. Continuous hardware self-diagnosis, program verification and fault detection. It reliably triggers safety interlocks and emergency shutdown upon abnormal conditions.
4. Supports standard IEC 61131-3 programming languages (Function Block Diagram, Structured Text). Safety application configuration is completed via Control Builder M.
5. Connects to S800 HI safety I/O modules via CEX bus to collect safety-related field signals and output commands for emergency trip and interlock protection.
6. Equipped with synchronization interface for real-time data exchange between dual CPUs. It communicates with System 800xA to upload safety alarms, event logs and diagnostic information.
7. Separates standard process control logic and safety protection logic, enabling integrated deployment of DCS basic control and SIS safety functions within one controller station.

• Matched with ABB System 800xA DCS, widely used in high-risk process industries: petrochemical, oil & gas, thermal power, coal chemical and pharmaceutical plants.
