Functions

1. Designed for Tricon safety control system. Adopts TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) architecture with 2-out-of-3 voting logic to eliminate single point of failure. It complies with IEC61508 and achieves SIL3 safety level for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).
2. Type: Supervised Digital Output Module, operating voltage 120VDC.
3. Equipped with circuit supervision function. It continuously detects open circuit, short circuit and wiring faults of field loops. Compared with standard DO modules, it significantly improves reliability of safety loops.
4. Supports hot-swap function. The module can be replaced online without system shutdown. Built-in self-diagnosis function uploads fault alarms to host system in real time.
5. Receives commands from the controller and outputs discrete signals to drive 120VDC field devices such as solenoid valves and relays. Three independent circuits perform parallel voting to guarantee safe operation under fault conditions.
6. Configuration, commissioning and troubleshooting are implemented via TriStation software. It requires matching dedicated termination baseplate.

Applications

1. Widely used in Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD) for high-risk facilities including oil & gas, petrochemical, coal chemical, power plants and LNG plants.
2. Applied in critical safety interlock loops requiring loop diagnosis, to control emergency shutdown solenoid valves, unit protection relays and other equipment.
3. Suitable for field loads powered by 120VDC. Mainly supplied as spare parts for legacy Tricon systems. Trident platform is recommended for new projects.
4. Typical applications: compressor safety interlock, reactor emergency shutdown, flare system control, protective trip of hazardous equipment and other high-integrity safety loops.
