Functions

1. Designed for Tricon V9/V10/V11 Safety Instrumented System (SIS). It adopts TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) technology with 2-out-of-3 voting logic to eliminate single point of failure, certified SIL3 per IEC61508.
2. 8-channel analog input module, compatible with standard analog signals: 4–20mA, 0–5VDC, 0–10VDC for continuous signal acquisition from field transmitters.
3. Built-in comprehensive channel diagnostics to detect open circuit, short circuit and module hardware faults. It supports hot swap, allowing online module replacement without system shutdown.
4. Converts field analog signals into digital data and transmits to main controller. Three independent acquisition channels perform synchronous voting to avoid false trips caused by single channel failure.
5. Configuration, calibration, commissioning and diagnostics are carried out via TriStation software. The module must be used with dedicated termination baseplate.

Applications

1. Widely deployed in Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD) for high-risk industries: oil & gas, petrochemical, coal chemical, power plant and LNG facilities.
2. Collects signals from temperature, pressure, flow and level transmitters, providing data for process safety interlock and over-limit protection.
3. Mainly supplied as spare parts for existing Tricon control systems. Trident series hardware is recommended for new projects; 3700A is primarily used for plant revamp and replacement.
4. Typical applications: reactor over-temperature/over-pressure interlock, tank high/low level protection, compressor process monitoring, pipeline pressure surveillance and other safety loops.
