Introduction

1.Main Functions

It is a full-height rack-mounted module supplying four independent programmable SPDT relay contact outputs for the 3500 TSI Machinery Protection Rack, which can be installed in any slot on the right side of the Transient Data Interface Module inside the rack.
Each relay channel supports independent programming with built-in alarm drive logic, compatible with AND/OR voting logic. It can trigger relay actions via combined signals including Alert, Danger, Module Not-OK and PPL parameter limit signals from all monitor cards in the rack.
Equipped with epoxy-sealed industrial relays and built-in arc suppressors, it has three status LED indicators: OK for normal module operation, TX/RX for rack communication, CH ALARM for channel abnormal status, realizing real-time self-diagnosis of module and channel faults.
Converts digital alarm signals from the monitoring system into passive hard switch signals, which can be directly connected to external PLCs, trip solenoid valves, audible & visual alarms and unit trip circuits to implement safety interlock protection. Relay latching, normally open or normally closed contact modes are configurable to avoid accidental unit trips.
Unified logic configuration via the 3500 Rack Configuration Software, fully compatible with all monitor cards of the 3500 system. Multiple modules can be expanded to realize multi-stage hierarchical alarm control for complex units.

2. Application & Usage

As the core output component of Bently Nevada 3500 Turbine Supervisory Instrument (TSI) machinery protection system, this module matches online condition monitoring systems for high-speed rotating equipment including steam turbines, gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, large fans, generators and booster pumps.

It is widely adopted in thermal power plants, petrochemical, coal chemical, natural gas pipeline transportation, metallurgy and marine power industries. It provides alarm output and emergency trip interlock for equipment faults such as excessive vibration, over-limit axial displacement, abnormal rotating speed and broken transducer probes. Compliant with API 670 industrial machinery safety standards, it is critical safety hardware to prevent shafting damage and unplanned shutdown of heavy rotating machinery.
