Introduction
1.Core Functions
- 16-channel compatible analog signal transfer Supports both 2-wire transmitters (pressure, temperature, weighing sensors) and 4-wire 4-20mA instruments, collects standard industrial 4~20mA analog signals uniformly. Each channel is an independent loop with HART protocol pass-through, allowing AMS Device Manager to read transmitter parameters.
- Redundant hardware architecture for uninterrupted data acquisition Exclusive redundant design of B10 version supports hot standby operation of dual AI cards. Fault of a single channel loop only isolates this channel, and signal collection of the other 15 channels remains unaffected, suitable for critical process loops that cannot shut down.
- Automatic open-circuit detection (matching the “Detection” feature) Built-in loop current monitoring circuit judges sensor disconnection, short circuit and transmitter power loss in real time. Fault signals are uploaded to DeltaV controller, triggering pop-up alarms on upper monitoring screen for rapid fault location.
- Field circuit isolation & overcurrent protection Each channel is equipped with independent 1000V DC electrical isolation to eliminate electromagnetic interference from inverters and motors. Built-in 2A independent fuse ensures short circuit of single loop will not damage the whole base or rear AI card.
- Power supply output for field transmitters Built-in 24VDC field power output on the base supplies power to 2-wire pressure, flow and weighing sensors. The maximum total field output current of one terminal block is 300mA, eliminating extra external power terminal blocks.
- Seamless connection with DeltaV system bus Plug-and-play with VE4050S2 series I/O carrier backplane, transmits collected signals to system controller at high speed via DeltaV internal LocalBus bus. It supports hot-swap of cards, and the whole DCS system does not need to shut down during maintenance.
- Wide-temperature industrial resistance to harsh environments Operating temperature range: -40℃ ~ +70℃, with three-proof coating on circuit board, dustproof and moisture-proof, suitable for control cabinets with high dust and large temperature difference in power plants, chemical plants and oil & gas sites.

2. Product Application Purpose
- Compatible Control System Exclusive matching part for Emerson DeltaV M-Series Series 2 Distributed Control System (DCS), used with 16-channel analog input cards and mounted on VE4050 series 8-slot I/O carrier backplane.
