Introduction
1. Main Functions
- Dual Power Source Voltage Monitoring Continuously monitors voltage status of two independent incoming power supplies (Source 1 / Source 2), supports single-phase and three-phase systems. It detects under-voltage, over-voltage and loss-of-phase faults on either supply line. The neutral connection can be enabled or disabled via DIP switch configuration; an external transformer is required if neutral sensing is disabled.
- Automatic Transfer Logic Control (Open Transition) Executes pre-set transfer sequence when the preferred power source fails: disconnect the faulty source, wait for configurable time delay, then close the standby power source. It supports auto-return (re-transfer) or non-auto return modes after the preferred supply recovers. All switching actions are open transition (momentary break before make), preventing parallel connection of two power sources.
- Operation Mode Selection Two working modes: Automatic Mode and Manual Mode. In automatic mode, the controller performs transfer actions autonomously. In manual mode, all switch operations are triggered by local push buttons on the front panel, and automatic transfer logic is locked. LED indicators display power health, switch position, operation mode and alarm status.
- Generator Start / Stop Relay Output Provides relay output signal to start the standby generator when the utility main power fails, and stops the generator after utility power restores and stabilizes. This enables integration with backup genset systems.
- Time Delay Adjustable Multiple configurable timers: fault detection delay, transfer delay to standby source, re-transfer delay back to preferred source. Timers avoid false switching caused by transient voltage dips or brief power fluctuations.
- Status & Alarm Indication Front panel LED array visualizes: Source 1 healthy, Source 2 healthy, switch position (I / O / II), Auto mode active, fault alarm. It outputs dry contact signals for remote status feedback to SCADA or local alarm systems.
- Interlock Logic Coordination Sends control commands to OTM motorized change-over switch and enforces electrical interlock to ensure Source 1 and Source 2 cannot be closed simultaneously, protecting the low-voltage distribution system.

The OMD200E480C is the standard automatic control unit for ABB OTM series motorized change-over switches, used to build Automatic Transfer Switching Equipment (ATSE) in low voltage power distribution systems.
Core Purpose
To guarantee uninterrupted power supply for critical loads by automatically switching between two independent AC power sources (utility mains + standby mains, or utility + diesel generator set) when the preferred power supply experiences voltage failure, under-voltage, over-voltage or phase loss.
