1.Main Functions

1. Digital Sequential & Logic Control It collects digital signals from field sensors, limit switches, proximity switches, photoelectric sensors and push buttons. It executes user ladder logic program to realize combinational logic, sequential action, safety interlock, timing and counting control. Transistor outputs drive servo amplifiers, stepping motor drivers, solenoid valves and low-voltage DC actuators.
2. Built-in High-speed Pulse Positioning Function Y0, Y1, Y2 channels support high-speed pulse output up to 100kHz. It can directly control stepper motors and servo drives to complete single-axis or multi-axis positioning without extra pulse generator modules. It supports absolute positioning, relative positioning, home return and speed change instruction.
3. Multi-channel High-speed Counter Built-in multiple high-speed counter channels, maximum 100kHz. It reads pulse signals from rotary encoders for length measurement, speed monitoring, position tracking and high-speed signal capture. It supports 1-phase and 2-phase quadrature counting.
4. PID Closed-loop Process Control Integrated PID control instructions. By connecting analog expansion modules, it implements closed-loop regulation of temperature, pressure, liquid level and flow rate, widely used for constant process control.
5. Powerful Arithmetic & Data Processing Supports integer and floating-point arithmetic, data comparison, shift, conversion, lookup table and interrupt processing. It handles complex data calculation and logic for medium complicated automation equipment.
6. Rich Communication Capabilities Standard RS422 programming port and USB programming port. Optional communication expansion boards/modules support Modbus RTU, RS232, RS485, CC-Link bus. It can exchange data with HMI, VFD, upper computer SCADA and other PLCs.
7. Flexible Modular Expansion Supports digital I/O expansion modules, analog A/D, D/A modules, temperature modules, high-speed special function modules and communication modules. Users expand functions according to project demands; it is backward compatible with most FX2N expansion modules.
8. System Self-diagnosis & Fault Alarm Built-in hardware self-diagnosis for power failure, program error, memory abnormality, battery low voltage. Front panel LED indicates Power, RUN, Error and battery alarm status. Fault codes are stored for quick on-site troubleshooting.
9. Interrupt Function & Pulse Catch Supports external interrupt, timer interrupt and high-speed pulse catch, capturing short input pulses that ordinary scan cycle cannot detect, suitable for high-speed trigger signals.

Core Purpose

FX3U-48MT/ES-A is a high-performance compact PLC for factory automation. It executes user-programmed logic to realize automatic sequential operation, safety interlock, motion positioning and process control. Transistor output design enables high-speed pulse output for servo/stepper motion control. It replaces traditional relay control circuits to simplify wiring, improve flexibility and reliability of automated machinery.

Load Characteristic Note

Transistor output type is designed for high-frequency switching and pulse positioning control. It can only drive DC loads and cannot directly control AC contactors. Relay output version FX3U-48MR is recommended if only low-frequency AC switching is needed.
