1.Main Functions

1. Digital Field Signal Acquisition Collect 24 VDC discrete on/off signals from field devices, including proximity sensors, photoelectric switches, limit switches, push buttons, safety interlock contacts and relay auxiliary contacts. Convert field dry contact or DC level signals into digital logic signals readable by the Modicon M2xx PLC CPU. It supports both sink and source wiring modes to adapt different sensor wiring habits.
2. Channel Status Indication Each input channel is equipped with an independent green LED indicator. The LED lights up when the corresponding input channel is activated, directly showing the real-time signal status for on-site commissioning and troubleshooting.
3. Signal Isolation & Noise Suppression 500 VAC isolation between field input side and PLC internal logic bus, which prevents field interference, surge and fault voltage from damaging the PLC main unit. Built-in input filter stabilizes signal sampling and suppresses short signal jitter.
4. Spring Terminal Quick Wiring Removable spring-cage terminal block enables fast wiring without screwdriver tightening. Terminals support wire gauge from 0.14 mm² to 1.5 mm². The pluggable terminal can be detached from the module for convenient wiring and replacement without removing all field cables.
5. Modular Bus Extension Connects to PLC CPU or other TM3 expansion modules via the built-in side bus connector. The module automatically communicates with the controller after physical connection; no extra communication configuration is needed. The CPU recognizes the module and maps input status to PLC memory addresses automatically.
6. System Expansion of Input Points Increase the total digital input capacity of the PLC system. Multiple TM3 series expansion modules can be cascaded to match the total I/O quantity required by automation projects.
7. Self-diagnosis & Reliable Operation The module monitors bus communication status. If bus connection failure occurs, the PLC generates alarm information. Designed for continuous industrial operation with high MTBF value, suitable for long-term unattended running in factory environments.
