Main Functions

1. LCN Coaxial Channel A Physical Interface It provides BNC connector for LCN “A” coaxial cable connection. It converts electrical signals between node backplane logic circuit and LCN coaxial bus, serving as the front-end physical media adapter for the LCN A network path. 2. Node Chassis Backplane Signal Routing It connects the LCN transceiver logic on the node mainboard to the external LCN coax cable via the paddle board. It transmits network frames, node addressing signals, power and diagnostic signals between chassis internal circuits and the LCN backbone.
3. LCN Network Signal Conditioning & Impedance Matching The board contains signal matching and termination circuits for LCN coaxial bus. It maintains correct characteristic impedance of the coaxial network, suppresses signal reflection and electromagnetic interference to guarantee stable high-speed LCN communication in industrial environments.plcva.com
4. Network Status Monitoring & Diagnostics It continuously monitors LCN A cable link status, carrier signal quality and frame transmission errors. Fault information such as cable breakage, poor contact, signal attenuation will be detected and reported to the DCS node processor, with status indicators for on-site maintenance inspection.
5. Redundant Network Support (Paired with CLCN-B) CLCN-A (51305072-200) works together with CLCN-B board to implement dual redundant LCN network (LCN A + LCN B). When one communication path fails, the system can switch automatically to the backup channel without interrupting process control communication.
6. Dual-node Chassis Mechanical & Electrical Integration This card is a plug-in paddle module specially designed for Honeywell dual-node chassis. It provides mechanical fixing and front panel BNC port mounting, simplifying field wiring of LCN coaxial cables.plcva.com
