Introduction

Basic Positioning
GX-JC06 is an OMRON GX series EtherCAT industrial branch switch (EtherCAT Junction Coupler), specifically designed for EtherCAT motion bus network expansion. It is an industrial real-time motion-specific hub that can only be used on the EtherCAT bus and cannot be used as a regular Ethernet switch. It is compatible with OMRON NX/NJ/NY series motion controllers and EtherCAT bus servo (such as R88D-KN series), used for bus wiring expansion of multi-axis equipment.

II. Core Function (What does an EtherCAT coupler do)
EtherCAT is an industrial high-speed real-time motion bus used to connect motion controllers, servo drives, and remote IO modules, requiring extremely low latency and precise multi-axis synchronization.
The hand-to-hand parallel wiring of ordinary network cables has limitations in distance and the defect of a single point failure causing the entire bus to fail. The GX-JC06 solves the wiring problem:
Star topology expansion of the bus
1 EtherCAT input signal enters, splits into 6 independent EtherCAT output ports, supports star topology wiring, each servo / remote IO is connected to a separate wire to the coupler, the wiring is neat, and it is more convenient for equipment disassembly and maintenance;
Fault isolation, no line reconfiguration shutdown
If any port of the servo fails, short-circuits, or has a fault, it will only disconnect that branch, the remaining 5 devices will continue to operate normally, and the entire production line will not be shut down;
Extend the bus wiring distance
Each port supports standard Ethernet cables (CAT5e/CAT6) with a maximum length of 100 meters for a single cable, and can be flexibly arranged in various locations of the equipment for servo motors;
Bus signal shaping and amplification
Built-in signal relay driver chip, compensates for long-line attenuation, ensures multi-axis synchronization accuracy (microsecond-level synchronization), meets the requirements of high-precision robotic arms and multi-axis synchronous equipment;
Plug-and-play without configuration
Pure hardware forwarding, no need to set IP, baud rate, software parameters, the device is recognized as an EtherCAT slave device upon power-on, combined with NJ/NX motion controllers, no additional programming is required.
Essential difference from ordinary home/industrial Ethernet switches
Ordinary switches store and forward data packets, has high latency, cannot be used for EtherCAT real-time motion control;
The GX-JC06 is a hardware direct-through EtherCAT dedicated coupler, hardware-level real-time forwarding, synchronization accuracy ≤ 1μs, specifically adapted for servo multi-axis linkage. Terminal Definition: +V (positive 24V), -V (0V negative), grounding symbol (shield ground);
Power Supply Specifications: Industrial standard DC 20.4~26.4V power supply. The overall power consumption is extremely low. The 24V switch power supply of the electrical control cabinet directly supplies power.
- Body Identification Indicator Lights
PWR: Power operation indicator light. The light is always on after power-on, indicating normal power supply;
Full-metal heat dissipation fins of the shell: Long-term high-load bus transmission heat dissipation, suitable for 0~55℃ electrical control cabinet environment;
Bottom DIN rail clip: Standard 35mm electrical guide rail installation, and fixed side by side with PLC and servo.
