II. Core functions
Basic positioning
Small logic programmable controller, replacing traditional relay circuits, used for simple equipment automation timing control.

1. Switching quantity logic control (core function)
   Collect signals from photoelectric switches, proximity switches, buttons, limit switches, liquid level sensors;
   Automatically control cylinders, solenoid valves, fans, water pumps, indicator lights, alarm buzzers;
   Realize equipment automatic start-stop, interlock, timing, counting, fault alarm, assembly line sorting, production statistics.
2. Communication and human-machine interaction
   Equipped with RS485 communication port, can be connected to touch screens, frequency converters, multiple PLCs for networking, view equipment operation parameters, set parameters.
3. Expansion capability
   Can be equipped with analog quantity modules, temperature modules, special function modules to collect temperature, pressure signals, perform simple temperature control, pressure control;
   ⚠️ Weakness: The FX2N body has no high-speed pulse output, cannot directly drive servo/step motors, if motion control is required, an additional positioning module must be added.
   Typical applicable equipment (simple small-sized equipment)
   Small conveying assembly line, simple sorting machine;
   Packaging auxiliary equipment, small sealing machine, coding machine;
   Heating oven, cooling fan, constant pressure water supply control cabinet;
   Small tooling fixtures, simple assembly machine, inspection equipment;
   Injection molding auxiliary equipment: automatic feeding machine, grinder, mold temperature machine timing control.
   III. Product advantages and disadvantages
   Advantages
   Simple structure, low price, simple programming entry;
   Relay output has high voltage endurance, can directly drive 220V loads;
   There is a huge market inventory, maintenance parts are easy to obtain.
   Disadvantages
   The computing speed and program capacity are far inferior to FX3U;
   The body has no high-speed pulse, weak motion control ability;
   It has been discontinued, new projects basically replace it with FX3U.
