Functions of TRICONEX 3611E 115 VAC Digital Output Module
- Output 115VAC driving signals to control field AC actuators As a dedicated 115VAC digital output card for Tricon TMR triple modular redundant SIS safety instrumented systems, it receives safety interlock commands issued by the MP3009X main processor and outputs 115V AC switching signals to drive AC field actuators including 115VAC solenoid valves, AC shutdown valves, AC audible & visual alarms, AC contactors and high-power relays, to implement safety operations such as ESD emergency shutdown, BMS burner management and unit interlock protection.
- Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) fault-tolerant hardware architecture The module is equipped with three fully independent AC output drive circuits. The three channels transmit identical control signals synchronously and compare output status via hardware in real time. If one drive channel fails or the circuit has open/short faults, the other two channels maintain valid output without spurious or fail-to-operate actions, complying with SIL3 safety integrity level fault tolerance standards.
- Real-time online full-loop fault diagnosis It continuously monitors every 115VAC output load loop, automatically detecting faults such as broken wires, short circuits, burnt load coils, loose wiring, phase loss and abnormal voltage. It generates fault alarms and Sequence of Events (SOE) logs, which are uploaded to HMI operator stations and engineering workstations synchronously for rapid fault localization of circuits and equipment.
- Strong & weak current isolation and surge protection It adopts professional isolation circuits to isolate ground loops and electromagnetic interference between the low-voltage main control rack and 115VAC field loads. It suppresses AC surges, back EMF and harmonic interference from the field side, protecting the host CPU and internal module circuits, and is suitable for complex high-interference industrial sites such as oil, gas and chemical plants.
- Fail-Safe de-energized safety logic Designed in accordance with industrial fail-safe principles, all outputs will automatically cut off 115VAC power and switch to the de-energized safe state in case of module malfunction, severe signal mismatch among three channels or rack communication loss, cutting off hazardous equipment to prevent dangerous process conditions and comply with international process safety standards.
- Online hot-swap maintenance on rack The module supports hot-swap replacement without system shutdown. Outputs of other channels remain unaffected during replacement, and the whole SIS safety interlock system runs continuously without full plant shutdown for maintenance.
- Compatible with standard 115VAC industrial AC loads It is specially designed for North American standard 115V AC field devices, matching the universal power supply specifications of industrial 115V solenoid valves and AC relays. Each card is equipped with multiple independent isolated channels to control multiple groups of high-power AC safety equipment separately.
