Product Background

The 1C31205G01 (RNC Base Assy) is the physical base carrier for remote I/O nodes of Emerson Ovation DCS, originally developed by Westinghouse and later acquired by Emerson. It builds distributed remote I/O stations, extending DCS controller I/O capacity to field cabinets located far away from main control room to minimize long‑distance field wiring.

Specifications: Maximum 2 remote node electronics modules installed; rotary switch for node address setting (0‑15); D‑connector supporting up to 6 I/O branches; 24 VDC power supply; operating temperature: ‑40 ℃ ~ +70 ℃; DIN‑rail mounting with EMI/RFI protection, manufactured in Thailand.

Lifecycle Status: EOL (End‑of‑Life). OEM production discontinued. Available stock consists of original leftover new spare parts or refurbished used units, only for maintenance of legacy Ovation installations, not recommended for new‑build projects.

Mandatory matching part: Remote Node Electronics Module 1C31203G01 and remote node transition panel are required to form a complete functional remote I/O node. Base alone cannot work.

Key Functions

1. Mechanical carrier: Slot structure holds up to 2 remote node electronics modules, provides mechanical fixation and back‑plane electrical interconnection.
2. Node address configuration: On‑board rotary switch to assign unique node address (0‑15) for DCS system identification for each remote I/O station.
3. I/O branch expansion: D‑Sub connector directly interfaces with 2 I/O branches, expandable to maximum 6 I/O branches via local communication cable, connects downstream I/O base units such as 5X00497G01 for large‑scale distributed I/O expansion.
4. Power distribution & signal relaying: Distribute 24 VDC power to plugged‑in remote node electronics modules, relay Ovation I/O bus signals for data exchange between main DCS controller and distributed I/O cabinets.
5. Industrial anti‑interference capability: Enhanced EMI/RFI isolation, suitable for high‑noise, shock & vibration heavy‑industry environment.

Important Note: This is only mechanical base assembly without processing & communication chips. Remote Node Electronics Module 1C31203G01 is mandatory for full remote‑I/O function. Base unit alone is non‑functional.
